We recently rebuilt a new SBS 2011 Standard server with Exchange 2010 to replace an existing domain controller with the same exact setup. The new system only sports new hardware with no additional components of any kind. When we installed the new server and reconnected all the PCs they received email without issue but almost every mailbox has exceeded the size limit quota.
We have made changes to the size limit warning etc. But still continue to receive mailbox size limit warning. We have tried restart the DB and services as well as the server itself but the messages persist in the Outlook clients. We have also tried reconfiguring the email accounts as well as taking out of cached exchange mode but they don't seem to resolve the issue. Most Outlook connected clients are Outlook 2010 but have a 2013 and several 2007 clients connected as well.that receive the errors. I say this because our initial research indicated a possible known problem with 2010 Outlook clients but they are not all 2010 experiencing the issue and this had not been a problem with the previous server.
Not to mention the recommended fix would be registry mod which we believe shouldn't have to be done, nor would it apply to the 2013 and 2007 Outlook clients. The previous exchange setup had no Service Pack installs so we tried updating the new one to SP2 but that did not resolve the issue. We have refrained from moving forward to SP3 for exchange as it does not detail any benefits for our current operations. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the reply DaSchmoo however, we have already configured those locations and thus far have been unable to get those settings to be reflected through the Outlook clients in a way to get the mailbox full message to go away.
So far the Outlook clients are able to send / receive without issue but the constant banner alerting them to the fact that the mailbox is full has been annoying for some of the users, they can't seem to train themselves to ignore it. We also determined the message is present in OWA. DaSchmooCaur also suggested this and I did look into again as I mentioned I had already reviewed it once, and found that the setting there is for enforced quota limits. However, reviewing the old server, I found that was not necessary on the old server setup. I had believe this is where I had set it in the previous server from recollection but found that not to be the case.
At this rate I am ready to give it a try though as it seems to be driving some of the users crazy for some odd reason. I will give this a try and let you all know how it goes. Thanks for the suggestions thus far, they are greatly appreciated. Sorry for the delay on getting back to you all. As I stated this is a new Server in play and was unable to restart the Exchange store due to other things going on with the server at this point. I figured the setting would propagate at this point but so far the user has reported no change with the mailbox full message. I did use the enforce quota rule though the SBS dashboard as suggested for one user only.

We're using Outlook 2003 with Exchange. I want to know what my mailbox quota size is. (Yes, I realize I can ask the systems guys, but assume that's not feasible here.) Is there any way within Outlook to find out what my mailbox limit is? Each of these.pst files can be up to 2 gig. So, I created two sub-folders 'Inbox' and 'Sent Items' and moved in all of my emails from 2004-2005 into these folders.
